At 1028 pm edt...doppler radar detected a line of thunderstorms. these thunderstorms were located along a line extending from greenbelt to lake ridge...moving east at 10 mph. locations that likely will be impacted include landover hills...nationals park...the district...new carrollton... woodbridge...kenilworth...anacostia...jefferson manor and fairmount heights. occasional cloud to ground lightning is occurring. move indoors until the storm has passed. gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph can be expected. heavy downpours could reduce visibilities and cause water to pond on roadways. additional rainfall up to one-half inch can be expected.
